Coffee Roasting

I started roasting coffee at home with a modified popcorn popper in 2018; it was love at first roast. Almost immediately, I incorporated technology1 to monitor and improve my results, and soon I was observing how subtle but measurable changes in the roasting process impact the flavor of the cup.

I’ve since graduated to a larger, more controllable roaster, but the process is largely the same. I roast in small, meticulously tracked batches designed to bring out the very best of each bean.

1 By technology I mean some scrapped-together (but effective) resources: a Bluetooth grill thermometer and an absurdly over-engineered Google spreadsheet.
